When I was younger I always thought the only way to succeed was to break your back with hard work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and leave the finer things in life for retirement. Having done that for a number of years, I have learned that being successful is about balance. While it is necessary to work hard at what you do, it is also important to take the time to breathe on occasion and enjoy time with family, vacations or even just simple moments of silence. Since becoming a parent, I feel that this is one of the hardest ideas to explain as it seems to always be taken to one extreme or the other. But I guess, this is a live and learn type of lesson that comes to each of us at our own time. So please excuse me while I crack this file open and turn my music up loud so I have something to work to.
