Career Basics

Rochel’s legal career is rooted in a commitment to service, intellectual curiosity, and meaningful community engagement. After law school, Rochel began her journey in workers’ compensation defense as a Law Clerk in Mullen & Filippi’s San Francisco office. During this time, she worked alongside experienced attorneys on a broad range of workers’ compensation matters, gaining the practical experience that prepared her for her transition into practice. Rochel now serves as an Associate Attorney in Mullen & Filippi’s San Francisco office. During law school, Rochel explored a wide range of practice areas and sought opportunities to contribute beyond the classroom. She also gained experience as a law clerk for a large multi-practice law firm, where she supported clients with planning, permitting, and environmental compliance matters. Her commitment to public service extended to her role as a clinical student in Santa Clara Law’s International Human Rights Clinic. As a clinical student, she collaborated on domestic and international advocacy projects, which provided her the opportunity to speak before the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors and attend hearings at the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights in Washington, D.C. Rochel has also authored a published comment in Santa Clara’s Journal of International Law.

Education

Rochel attended Santa Clara University School of Law, where she earned her Juris Doctor and received certifications in Public International Law with Honors and Public Interest and Social Justice. Rochel participated extensively in Santa Clara Law’s International Law Program, including studying abroad in Geneva, Switzerland with a focus on public international law, humanitarian law, and human rights. Rochel earned her Bachelor of Arts in Communication with a Minor in Psychology from the University of the Pacific in 2021. During her undergraduate studies, she was named Freshman Student of the Year, achieved placement on the Dean’s Honor List, and completed her degree in only three years.

Professional Membership

Rochel is a member of the California State Bar Association and Filipino Bar Association of Northern California. She is also a Board member for The Eli Home, a nonprofit organization supporting at-risk families.
