Career Basics
Matthew began his career as a Legal Aid attorney, and through that role he has practiced in many areas of civil litigation in California since 2023.
Education
Matthew graduated from the University of San Diego School of Law in 2023, where he was a Dean’s Honor Scholarship recipient. While attending University of San Diego, Matthew served as a Comments Editor on the San Diego Journal of Climate and Energy Law, and published a comment in the journal, On the Hook-Can the Commercial Fishing Industry Hold Big Oil Accountable for Climate Change. Matthew also completed several internships; including with the Mendocino County Office of the Public Defender, San Diego Office of the Public Defender, and in Legal Aid. In 2020, he earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science with an option in legal studies and a minor in psychology from California State University, Chico, where he graduated with highest distinction.
Professional Membership
Matthew is a member of the State Bar of California and is also admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Eastern District of California.
Personal Note
Matthew has been drawn to the practice of law for his entire life and believes that being an attorney requires passion, dedication, and a commitment to zealously advocating for the interests of his clients. He is grateful for the opportunity to channel that passion into his work as a defense attorney in California’s workers’ compensation system. For Matthew, there is nothing more rewarding than achieving the outcome his clients seek and providing them with uncompromising representation throughout the litigation process.
Outside of the office, Matthew enjoys golfing, fishing, and cheering on his favorite baseball team, the San Francisco Giants.
