Career Basics

Lisa Lesley joined Mullen & Filippi, LLP in 2022. She initially practiced workers’ compensation defense from 2002-2004 and has appeared at Workers’ Compensation Appeals Boards all over Southern California. Prior to returning to the industry in 2014, Lisa was Collection Counsel for Taft-Hartley Trust Funds and also handled subrogation matters. She is likewise knowledgeable in Collective Bargaining Agreements. Lisa represents employers, insurance carriers, third party administrators and self-insured entities in all aspects of workers’ compensation.

Education

Lisa attended Arizona State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science in 1995. She was a member of the Pi Sigma Alpha Honor Society and achieved the Dean’s List in 1992, 1993 and 1995. Lisa also attended California Western School of Law earning her Juris Doctorate in 2000. Additionally, she studied law in Madrid, Spain in 1998 through the International Program with The College of William & Mary.

Lisa is a member of the State Bar of California. She is admitted to practice before the United States District Courts, Southern and Central Districts of California. She is also a member of the San Diego County Bar Association, Workers’ Compensation Section.

Personal Note

In my professional career, I have enjoyed collaborating with the workers’ compensation community and providing creative solutions to clients in resolving claims.
In my free time, I enjoy biking, traveling and college football. I also have a passion for special needs children and volunteered for several years.
